Rajanaka Tantra Yoga with Douglas Brooks, Sianna Sherman, & Mitchell Bleier

The Tantric tradition teaches that our bodies, minds, and hearts are gifts of Grace embodying and that yoga expands the possibilities to experience Grace as our very own nature. The Rajanaka Tantra roots us deeply in the yoga of everyday life even as it explores the most subtle and sublime teachings of yoga.

One of the most important Rajanaka descriptions of yogic experience centers on Spanda, the pulsating radiance who appears as the universal source and essential form of the Divine's own energetic self-expression. Spanda is the primordial energy, the Shakti whose manifestation reveals Herself in our every experience. Spanda is our breath, our beating heart, the waves of feeling, thought, and experience that pulse as our consciousness.

The Stanzas on Pulsation or Spanda-Karika encapsulate this sublime and sophisticated teaching in fifty-one pithy aphorisms that invite us to explore the depths of Tantric yoga and the nature of our embodied Self. In this week of deep exploration we shall enter the very heart of Spanda, learning the teaching as our personal experience in our bodies, hearts, and minds. We will study the Spanda-Karika as it illumines our experiences and learn the stories, teachings, and history that will root us deeply in this essential teaching and in our yoga practice. We will practice asana, meditate, study, and engage in the ancient practice of Kula Satsang, keeping the great company of fellow yogis.

There are no prerequisites or requirements for this study: all you need is an open mind, a willing heart, and a love of yoga. Yoga Practice will be offered by Mitchel Bleier and Sianna Sherman throughout the week.
